Pro Plan Veterinary Diets HA St/Ox Hypoallergenic is a complete hypoallergenic veterinary diet for the diagnosis and nutritional management of food allergies in adult cats and kittens.
Some cats suffer from food allergies, which can cause skin discomfort and/or digestive upset. HA St/Ox Hypoallergenic is formulated with proteins that have been fragmented (hydrolysed) into very small components, unlikely to trigger an allergic reaction, and a purified carbohydrate source.
Hydrolysed diets like this are recognised as suitable for "elimination diet trials" when trying to diagnose (or rule out) a food allergy. When a food allergy is suspected, it is recommended to offer HA St/Ox Hypoallergenic, without any transition period. During this trial, the cat should be fed exclusively for 8 to 10 weeks with this food and only have access to water for drinking.
This food is also useful for cats with severe intestinal disease such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), as it is formulated with selected protein sources and is highly digestible.
