Pro Plan Veterinary Diets UR HA St/Ox Hypoallergenic is a complete hypoallergenic veterinary diet for the diagnosis and nutritional management of food allergies in adult cats and kittens.
Some cats suffer from food allergies, which can cause skin discomfort and/or digestive upsets. HA St/Ox Hypoallergenic is formulated with proteins that have been broken down (hydrolysed) into very small components, unlikely to trigger an allergic response, and a purified carbohydrate source.
Hydrolysed diets like this are recognised as suitable for performing "elimination diet trials" when trying to diagnose (or rule out) food allergies. If a food allergy is suspected, it is recommended to offer HA St/Ox Hypoallergenic, without any transition period. During this trial, the cat should be fed exclusively this food for 8 to 10 weeks and only have access to water to drink.
This food is also useful for cats with severe intestinal disease such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) as it is formulated with selected protein sources and is highly digestible.
