Royal Canin VET Urinary U/C - Dry food for adult dogs with urinary problems
Royal Canin Urinary U/C is specially formulated to help dogs with urinary sensitivities such as lower urinary tract disease related to urate stones. This formula contains a selection of proteins with a low purine content to help reduce the formation of urate urinary stones.
The reduced content of certain amino acids and proteins can help limit the likelihood of cystine urinary stone formation in the urinary tract. This formula contains nutrients that help maintain your dog's protective skin barrier function. This diet also contains a synergistic combination of antioxidants to help neutralize the effects of free radicals and protect your dog's tissues and cells.
As part of the Royal Canin Veterinary Health Nutrition range, it is important that this product is only given to your pet when recommended by a veterinarian. The transition from one diet to another for your pet should be done progressively over a period of 7–10 days. Always follow the correct recommended dosage, especially if mixing dry and wet food.
RECOMMENDED FOR CASES OF:
- Metabolic uroliths (urate, xanthine, cystine): prevention of recurrences.
- Hyperuricosuria.
- Management of the metabolic risk of uroliths in dogs with leishmaniasis treated with xanthine oxidase inhibitors, e.g. allopurinol (if they have secondary kidney disease - protein loss due to nephropathy with or without azotemia, in which case switch to the Renal diet).
NOT RECOMMENDED FOR CASES OF:
